It's pretty obvious that we love renovating traditional homes. Nothing makes us happier than modernizing a home so that it can be around for another 50 years, but we do enjoy a new construction project every now and then. Last year we built three new homes on Church Hill's North 29th Street and this year we're building two more new construction homes in Church Hill. These homes, set to be on East Clay Street, will be of similar style to our homes on North 29th Street, but with a few design updates.
One of the buyers' favorite features (and our's too!) from last year's builds was the double-sided fireplace features in each home. These double-sided fireplaces keep the floor plans of the homes open while giving separation and helping to define living and dining spaces. Since they are so well loved the new construction builds on East Clay Street will also feature double-sided fireplaces.
We try to take the architectural design and feel of the historic homes you would walk into in Church Hill and bring them into our new construction homes. We followed a familiar row house design, which you'd see in many Church Hill homes, and brought it into our new construction homes. The houses on East Clay Street will have a similar one-wall kitchen layout to maximize space and continue the open concept floor plan.
We'd love to show you all the details and samples of our upcoming construction but you'll just have to wait and see the finished products this summer! To satisfy that inner curiosity though we'll share a rendering of our In-Progress builds.
